Pushpin – Sequoia

I wrote about Pushpin a couple of years ago. Their stuff was pretty wild. Dense. Relentless. All over the place, in a good way. In a great way actually. Scrolling through my Instagram feed today I saw they have a new track out. It’s called Sequoia and you should listen to it. There’s something really primal about it. Starting out like it’s just crawled out of the water, and evolving into something stranger and stranger by the second. One thing about this band is that their stuff never ends up where you think it will end up, and yet it always feels right. Shades of Daniel Rossen and the oblique Yellow House by Grizzly Bear in the madness. Great work, as ever.
